Blood Pressure Monitors and Diagnostics

Blood Pressure (2)

Why monitor your blood pressure at home?

Monitoring at home helps to track if treatments are working. Whether you are on medication, upgrading your diet and/or exercise routine. Monitoring your blood pressure is especially helpful for health conditions such as hypertension, diabetes, kidney disease and cardio issues.

By empowering yourself with a blood pressure monitor you are able to better partner with your doctor. It is recommended to keep a blood pressure journal to show the whole picture of your readings. This can be a huge help in working with your doctor to receive the best healthcare possible!

Wrist vs. Upper Arm Monitors

If you have a confirmed or possible health condition, it is highly recommended to use an upper arm monitor. Blood vessels are more narrow and closer to your skin in your wrist making it harder to get an accurate reading and results tend to come our higher than they would using an upper arm monitor.

Wrist monitors can be convenient and many keep a record of your results over time, but they can be difficult to position. This another reason that upper arm monitors are recommended for anyone serious about monitoring their blood pressure.

This happens by sending beams of light through the blood and measure the absorption to determine the amount of oxygen. These can be used to help determine treatment, monitor treatment and recovery

Stethoscope: These allow us more insight by allowing us to listen to organs such as heart and lungs. People can use them to recognize if there are changes in heart rhythm or if a cough is accompanied by fluid in the lungs. Many others pair them with blood pressure devices to help record accurate blood pressure.
